We shot this summer 2008. Shin actually took the crew to the airport to get the air plane and runway. The sky is the real thing from location. I split the retouching duties on this shot with Miho. She worked on the individually shot ladies while I did the comping. I believe the final shot had grass added to it as some later stage. Multiple versions might be out in the wild.

Sexy german cars always are fun to retouch. Shin shot the car at our 47 Booth studio. The background is a recreation of existing images from german audio ads. However since the requested crops were much larger I decided to re-draw it. Although it looks CGI it’s actually hand drawn.

I shot this as a technical exercise with a bit of humor. The trick was large even lighting from a Bron Para for the model, The intent was to use a smaller light for the hand, but the para worked just as well in that case. I used the same lighting set up for the hand on a smaller scale to match up the direction of the light.

This was a fun retouch. Shot by Todd for ‘Secrets from Your Sister’ bra company. The challenge here was shooting a nude model, and than retouching the chest so it looks like it is being supported by the illustrated bra. The weight distribution had to look very natural. This took surprisingly long, 10+ version of the image until we got the feel just right. This is one of 3 images I worked on.

This was an extra shot I took while shooting some catalog images for Beata Dirycz, an LA Based fashion designer. I love the symmetry of the shot, of course I did have to help out a bit in post to achieve this exact look. The neckline reminds me of the famous Nefertiti image. So now forever I associate the image with it.

A shot from the inside pages of the booklet for Maleah’s upcoming album “God’s Gift”. First to be released on iTunes. Make Up and Hair was done by Andrea Kertesz.
